Since garnet has a higher true density than sand, fine particles that cannot be removed by sand can be removed if fine granular garnet is laid down between the filter sand layer and the gravel layer. Garnet is thus used for multilayer filtration. In a triple-layer filtration process, it is possible to increase filtration efficiency and the filtration rate by building up anthracite in the upper layer, filter sand in the middle layer, and garnet in the lower layer. | ||||||
