Chlorine Cutter Fe and Chlorine Cutter Mn are made from chamotte and ceramic GT, which are made by granulating, crushing and sieving natural granulated pumice stones and fireclay, and coated with iron oxyhydroxide and manganese dioxide.
Since they have a myriad of ventilation pores and excellent adsorption, they are used for removing iron and manganese.
Chlorine Cutter Fe
CHLORINE CUTTER Fe eliminates iron with oxygen dissolved as an oxidant while filter media are used as a catalyst.
No hypochlorous acid, bromic acid, or THM are produced.
Removal of iron and manganese without chlorine is possible if used together with “Chlorine Cutter Mn”.

Chlorine Cutter Mn
Manganese removing media without chlorine
Chlorine Cutter Mn has a removal mechanism by a direct oxidation process which is fundamentally different from the traditional removing process with special filter media. There is no need to control residual chlorine as sodium hypochlorite is not used. Furthermore, manganese removal is not affected by concentration and type of residual chlorine.

There is no need to control the residual chlorine since sodium hypochlorite is not normally used. The capacity of demanganization of Chlorine Cutter Mn does not influence the concentration of chlorine and residual chlorine (free chlorine and combined chlorine) like the contact oxidation. The contact oxidation is difficult for demanganization treatment to control the concentration of effective free chlorine due to a lot of changes in case ammonia nitrogen is contained.
